Valencia
One of the "fallas" figures as it appeared on
the night of the celebration. Picture contributed by a prominent retired
physicist.
.
Another picture of the fallas by the unknown physicist.
Suspicious looking characters from DB classes
of '57, '59, and '60 at the playa, or beach in Valencia. The Mediterranean
in the background is beautiful.
These kites were some sort of advertising gimmick.
Prominent retired physicist LWB and I assessed the wind forces, kite drag,
solar effects, etc. and decided the geometric figure generated was an old
wooden ice cream spoon or possibly a very skinny thumb.
Yet another fallas. Can you believe these are
made in this much detail, only to be burned? Photo by a previously underpublished
physicist.
Another shot of the fallas. There are more than a hundred built each year.
How many of these figures are made of paper mache?
A cricket, possibly?
There's that Euro influence.
Unknown meaning of these figures.
A big party going on in Valencia.
