Sigüenza
A close-up look at the catedral wall in Sigüenza.
Notice the bullet marks around the portals, inflicted during the civil
war. This catedral was undergoing extensive restoration and we couldn't
find a way to get inside.
The Plaza Mayor in Sigüenza. It was siesta time on a very cold day, but this is the most deserted place we have seen.
A very old door in a deserted building along a street in Sigüenza.
The castillo at Sigüenza, as seen from the
"back" side. This has been restored to be one of the Parador hotels, and
this one is highly recommended by the travel publications. The little windows
are incorporated in the design of the rooms. These hotels are rather expensive,
usually in the price range of a four star modern place.
