Cuenca
The gorge at Cuenca. Most of the town is back
to the left.
Footbridge across the gorge. It's not very high,
but some are a little hesitant to cross. The building in the background
is a Parador, an hotel owned by the government. They are usually located
in the most attractive towns to visit, and are often in old castles or
monasteries. This one has a spectacular view up and down the valley.
These are the Casas Colgadas or hanging houses.
Taken from the footbridge, this is the signature feature of Cuenca.
The Catedral at Cuenca taken from the Plaza Mayor.
The lady in the pink jacket on the steps is "la jefa", or "the boss".
Little old lady watching the goings-on in la Plaza
Mayor de Cuenca.
